Air quality as another variable in the JABLOTRON ecosystem
Content
The new JABLOTRON JB-111Tx thermostats introduced control of heating, cooling and ventilation (based on humidity).
Their unique integration directly into the security system brings everyday comfort and savings. You can read more

New thermostats from JABLOTRON: Smart heating and a secure home in one.
We are now expanding the thermostat range with the JB-112Tx variants, which add carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement to the existing functions in a single device – for an informational and safety function as well as ventilation control based on air quality.
CO2 thermostats help wherever stale air needs to be addressed
In houses and flats, the new thermostats come into their own, especially in the bedroom and living room.
- The thermostat controls the ventilation PG output not only by humidity, but also by the CO2 level.
- The PG output can boost the heat-recovery unit or, for example, open a motorised window.
- Users don’t have to think about anything and always have enough fresh air – even while they sleep.
- In other (non-residential) rooms such as bathrooms, hallways or utility rooms, where air quality does not need to be monitored, the installation can be combined with the basic JB-1x1Tx series thermostats. This achieves a balanced price/comfort ratio.
In schools and offices, CO2 thermostats help ensure fresh air to aid concentration and minimise the risk of health problems such as headaches or nausea.
- If the building is equipped with an air-handling system, the thermostat can let it know that the output needs to be increased or that the air-intake damper in a particular room should be opened.
- Thanks to the link with the alarm, a solution can also be found in older buildings where the only way to change the air is to open the windows. A warning about insufficient air quality can be set at two levels:
- Uncomfortable CO2 level: When this level is reached, the thermostat gives a warning – acoustically, via the internal siren (an informative beep or melody), or visually by lighting up an indicator. Teachers or staff can then open the windows for comfort and better concentration.
- Dangerous CO2 level: The thermostat triggers a system alarm, indicating the need to open the windows immediately or leave the room.
How it works
The CO2 thermostat variants are available only in the bus version. The current consumption of the CO2 sensor does not allow battery power. As with the basic thermostat variant, there are versions with a display and buttons for residential spaces, and versions without a user interface for commercial premises where operation by passers-by is not desirable.
For heating and cooling control, the CO2 thermostats work exactly the same as the basic variant. The only difference is in the ventilation mode.
- The ventilation PG output switches not only on the basis of air humidity, but also on the basis of the CO2 concentration.
- Humidity and CO2 work together with OR logic – ventilation can be triggered by either value.
- As soon as the first variable reaches the set level, the ventilation PG output switches on. Once it drops by the set hysteresis, the PG output switches off again.
- Users set the switching threshold and hysteresis themselves in MyJABLOTRON 2 (alternatively, these can also be set from MyCOMPANY).
The exact CO2 value in ppm is shown in MyJABLOTRON 2. Both the current value and a graph showing the history are available, just as for humidity or temperature. In the app, users can set a notification for when a specific value is reached.

On the thermostat’s display, the current value is simplified to levels 1 to 5:
| Display level | CO2 value (ppm) | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | < 750 | Fresh air |
| 2 | 750 - 1200 | Slightly elevated CO2 |
| 3 | 1200 - 1500 | Satisfactory quality |
| 4 | 1500 - 2500 | Poor air quality |
| 5 | > 2500 | Extremely poor air quality |
In the thermostat’s internal settings in F-Link, a system 24-hour alarm (GAS) can be configured. The alarm can optionally be triggered when the dangerous level 4 or 5 is reached.
